"I had an awesome time playing the Old American Golf Club on Lake Lewisville this past weekend. What an amazing golf course, lake views in every direction and some of the finest and fastest greens I have ever putted on. Justin Leonard and Tripp Davis designed an incredible golf course. The course made me feel I was in a coastal region with the vast natural areas, wire grass and a core golf course. Virtually no homes are visible from the course, just pure golf. Simply put, I love playing the Old American! The Old American offers the best views by far of any other golf course I've ever played in Texas. The vast majority of the holes have great views of Lake Lewisville.   

As for the play, the sloped greens are firm and some of the most challenging I've ever played. There are several blind shots which make it particularly fun! The GPS technology is amazing and seems to be very accurate. It will slow your cart and force you to move if you drive too close to the native grass areas. The scorecard function on the GPS is fantastic and at the end of the round you just need to type your email address on the touch screen and your scorecard is in your inbox! 

As an added perk, tees, towels (wet or dry), and all refreshments are included. There are a couple of self serve snack stations on the course which offer water, gatorade, and soft drinks, along with snacks such as pub mix, candy bars, and peanut butter crackers. -  Keith Vesper
